About Which Way Next
Which Way Next is a place to read and write interactive fiction: stories where you make the choices. At key moments, the narrative branches—you pick what happens next, and the story continues from there. Different choices lead to different paths and endings, so every read can be a new experience.
You can browse and read any published book on the site without creating an account. If you want to get more involved, creating a free account unlocks more ways to participate.
Why create an account?
- Review and rate books. Share your opinion with star ratings and written reviews on the book’s page. Help other readers discover stories they’ll enjoy.
- Flag issues in chapters. Spotted a typo, a broken link, or something that doesn’t work? Logged-in readers can flag chapters and describe the problem so authors can fix it.
- Write your own books. Become an author. Create your own branching stories, add chapters and choices, set cover art and tags, and publish when you’re ready. Your books appear in the browse list for everyone to read.
If you prefer to read without signing up, you can—but signing up lets you review, flag, and write, and keeps your reading experience tied to your account.
